IMechE Training: Successful Project Management for Engineers - Aberdeen

Date: 12 August 2010 - 13 August 2010
Event Type: 2 day CPD Training
Location: London

Make a success of all your projects

Project management skills are now firmly established as a core requirement for almost all professions and it is vital that anyone intending to manage projects has a high level of proficiency so that they can provide effective leadership to their teams. This programme has been created to help those who aspire or already lead project teams to develop the essential skills needed to become a successful project manager.

Whilst projects come in all shapes and sizes, certain key principles apply to all. This programme will provide a generic model to highlight these key principles, developed from comparative studies of projects that succeeded and those that failed. As we work through the key principles, step by step, this programme will help equip you with the skills you need to make a success of managing your projects. Numerous examples and case studies will be used to illustrate how lessons learned can be applied in a wide variety of situations. These will cover smaller projects as well as large, commercial as well as in-house and well established as well as high-tech.

The course comprises an equal mix of theoretical and practical sessions to ensure that participants have the opportunity to apply the methods and techniques being presented. This highly interactive course enables delegates to experience various team and leadership roles during the two days.
