Delivering Train Systems on the Victoria Line - a PPP Project

This presentation highlights Bombardier's approach to delivering their turnkey project to upgrade the Victoria Line. This will cover the integration of both train and signalling systems to replace the existing Victoria Line ATO and will include a detailed review of the new train design considering the particular requirements of the PPP and underground environment.

Meet the Speakers

Neil Walker joined the rail industry in 1995. He is a qualified engineer, whose experience started in developing, implementing and managing infrastructure and transportation projects both in the UK and abroad. Before his current role Neil was responsible for the commercial management of the company's turnkey and PFI/PPP projects including concluding those contracts with clients, financiers and suppliers, including the PPP. Neil is Bombardier's Project Director of the Victoria Line Upgrade contract as part of the Bakerloo, Central and Victoria (BCV) PPP contract for London Underground.

Steve West has worked in the rail industry since 1974, in the UK and Australia. He has been involved in numerous projects for the home market and export contracts to Hong Kong, Canada and Sweden. Currently he is Bombardier's Project Director, responsible for delivering the new Victoria Line trains.
