Living Well - Hidden Impacts and Sustainable Consumption
22 November 2010
Sustainability is usually interpreted in terms of three “pillars” or constraints: techno-economic, environmental or ecological, and societal. Applying this approach to consumption suggests that the sustainability of supply chains should be assessed by examining the distribution of positive benefits and negative impacts along the supply chain.
Modelling a Sustainable World - ASHRAE Annual Lecture 2010
07 October 2010
This lecture on the topic of Modelling a Sustainable World, will note that in energy simulation, daylight analysis, CFD and BIM software, we have powerful modelling tools that enable us to create and refine our vision of a building - its appearance, systems, operation and performance.
SPEAKER: Lynn G. Bellenger, President of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
Water: A Glass Half Full or a Glass Half Empty?
30 November 2009
The south east of England is now officially ‘water stressed’ and something drastically different from traditional solutions is required in the near future from water engineers. This lecture will review the questions from both strategic and local perspectives. The discussion will put in context some answers for the future engineering of water infrastructure.
This lecture is FREE and open to all.
